Bahrain Air sets its wing in Nepal with 3 weekly flights

Bahrain Air, the first Premium service carrier with affordable fares, is a private national carrier located in Bahrain, operating within MENA countries and to the Indian sub contentment started actual preparations to launch flights directly to Kathmandu the capital of Nepal.

Under an attempt to increase its services through international operations, Bahrain Air intends to commence its Kathmandu services with 3 weekly flights, making Kathmandu the 17th destination on its network. Furthermore Kathmandu would be the third city in the Asian region Bahrain Air would be operating its services. The service would be launched effective March 3, 2009.

Bahrain Air will operate these flights upon the arrival of the 4th aircraft A319 Airbus, and commence will its 3 weekly flights between Bahrain International Airport (BIA) and Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) in Kathmandu, using Modern Air Bus A320 or A319 aircraft with 12 Premium Class & 150 Economy Class seats, to serve the growing passengers demand on the route.

The flight 2B513/514 will depart Bahrain International Airport on TUE /FRI/ SUN at 02:35 am and arriving Kathmandu at 10:05am local time and departing Kathmandu at 10:50am arriving back to Bahrain at 12:50 pm.

In this regard Mr. Ibrahim Al Hamer Bahrain Air Managing Director stated: "With the strengthening of economic ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Nepal, there has been a marked increase in business and tourist traffic between the two countries. This calls for enhanced connectivity and Bahrain Air is fulfilling this need."

Furthermore Mr. Al Hamer added:
"Upon the arrival of the 4th aircraft, the company is expanding its network and flight frequency in many of its destinations; it will increase the number of flights out of Bahrain International Airport to meet passengers demand within the region."

Nepali is the lingua franca of the valley and is the most widely spoken language. Nepal Bhasa/Newari is the language spoken by native people, the Newars. Tourism, sometimes said to be the 'third religion' of Nepal, is the country's most important industry, and plays a large role in the economic activity of Kathmandu.
