Powered by all new AJ V8 supercharged 5.0 litre engines, both the XFR and XKR move the brand onto a new level of high sporting excellence. Both cars deliver significantly more power and performance but with comparable or better fuel economy and emissions than those supersede.
Commenting on the news, Robin Colgan, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Middle East and North Africa, said:
"We are very excited about the new XFR and XKR and the advanced engines that set benchmarks in terms of performance, economy and efficiency. Both the XF and the XK are very successful in the Middle East and with the new high performance engine line up we can only build on that success."
Strengthening its position as a luxury sporting saloon, the XFR adds more dynamic performance whilst retaining the XF's core values as a contemporary, sophisticated and beautifully crafted car. Powered by the new supercharged 510 bhp engine, the XFR is the ultimate Jaguar sports saloon, with acceleration from 0-60mph in just 4.7 seconds. Aside from the R styling cues, the XFR also features an Active Differential Control and Adaptive Dynamics - technologies being introduced for the first time on this and the XKR sports car.
Distinguished by unique exterior and interior design features, the XFR includes revised bumpers and lower front air intakes, sill extensions, hood louvres and grilles, four tailpipes, a trunk-lid spoiler, unique seats and 20-inch alloy wheels.
The new generation XKR coupe and convertible remains true to Jaguar's heritage of producing great grand tourers with state-of-the-art engineering and outstanding driving dynamics. The new 5.0 litre AJ V8 engine sits within an all aluminum body that has been inspired by aerospace construction and delivers 510 bhp, capable of going from 0-60mph in just 4.6 seconds.
The new XKR features Jaguar's proprietary and user friendly JaguarDrive Selector(TM) that was first seen on the XF to further enhance the XK's luxury sporting character. Exterior changes to XKR include a distinctive and purposeful new front end design, new LED rear lights and a new lower rear body spoiler.
Both cars will be available in showrooms across the Middle East from mid 2009.
