Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum awarded ISO 27001 for Dubai Airport Free Zone Information Security

HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Airport Free Zone was recently presented with the prestigious ISO 27001.

The award was presented by Dr. Mohammed Al Zarouni, Dubai Airport Free Zone Director General. Accompanying Dr. Al Zarouni during the presentation were, Mohammed Al Sayed Hashemi, the Executive Director of Corporate Services Division and Buthaina Bin Fahad, Acting Director ITC Department. The prestigious ISO 27001 information security award is an international award that recognizes excellence in information security for e-services delivered to its customers through a website and "Tasheel" electronic port.

Sheikh Ahmed congratulated the Dubai Airport Free Zone team and expressed satisfaction at winning the excellence award in the information security.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Al Zarouni said; "Applying the international standards of information security is a priority in our activities and services to our customers and partners in different economic sectors".

"With this award, our tenants at Dubai Airport Free Zone can rest assured that the Free Zone focuses on information security and the main objectives of using the modern technology to keep customers' information confidential and giving priority on the protection of customer data thus keeping trust among service providers and receivers", Dr. Al Zarouni stated.

He added; "It is critical to work hard to raise performance, efficiency and applying recognized international standards of quality in the technology used to achieve the strategic objectives of Dubai Airport Free Zone, including delivering distinct services for our customers which are from international major companies.

Dr. Al Zarouni said:
"We work to improve our electronic services towards controlling and securing information in keeping with international standards and qualities and this is an important strategic objective. Dubai Airport Free Zone deals directly with a lot of international companies and investors focusing on commercial information security."


He noted that Dubai Airport Free Zone work strictly follows Dubai Government guidelines which promote applying the best technologies of information business and its protection to create trust among business partners and assuring success of business operations.

"Dubai Airport Free Zone has long been committed to develop its IT infrastructure using the best in programs for more convenience for use in different business activities of our customers", stated Mr. Mohammed Al Sayed Al Hashemi, Executive Director of Corporate Services Division.

Mr. Al Hashemi added; "We aim to deliver the best services to our customers and strategic partners from more than 1,500 companies in different business, service and industry sectors to secure information and guard against losing the information or being hacked".

He noted that we have committed to do this mission perfectly and with the top-class protection levels, benefiting from the great support from Dubai Airport Free Zone and the efficient personnel there".

Mr. Al Hashemi assured the importance of delivering confidentiality and reliability in giving information only to people authorized to add completeness, content safety and information provision continuity. We do this to guarantee the service effectiveness and its positive results.

"Completing the technology infrastructure with this award would not have been achieved without raising the security awareness of our staff on these computerized systems, adjusting programs and applying policies and measures for the computerized systems required", he added.

"information security has become a basic and important part of our success in business and achieving the best results, not only on the IT level, but also towards achieving the profit, performance quality and achieving good rates of growth", he concluded.

Dubai Airport Free Zone established in 1996 offers companies operating at the Free Zone 100% foreign ownership, Free Zone companies will benefit from 100% repatriation of capital.100% Corporate, import/ export, personal income, and commercial levies tax exemption.
