CH2M Hill showcases sustainable solutions for energy and water at World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi

CH2M Hill, a global full-service engineering, procurement, construction, and operations firm, announces its Platinum Sponsorship and participation in the World Future Energy Summit to be held 19-21 January in Abu Dhabi.

CH2M Hill and its Chief Executive Officer Lee McIntire will host the day one Delegate Luncheon. The firm will also participate in speaking engagements and exhibit its energy, water and sustainability capabilities and projects.

On Tuesday, 20 January, two of CH2M Hill's leading sustainability experts will be featured speakers during panel discussions. At 11:30 a.m., Dr. William Bellamy will speak on "Desalination and Sustainable Water Systems." Dr. Bellamy is a Fellow and Senior Vice President of Water Technologies at CH2M Hill, providing leadership and direction for the water business and worldwide application of sustainable water systems, with a focus on desalination. At 14:45, Dr. John Mogge will address the topic of "Technology of Personal Transit." Dr. Mogge is a principal program manager and registered architect who currently serves as CH2M Hill's Environmental Services Director of Business Development and Planning. Dr. Mogge's doctoral work examined the economics of sustainable planning, design and construction. On Wednesday, 21 January, Jay Witherspoon will participate in an Integrating Technologies roundtable beginning at 12:00 p.m. Mr. Witherspoon is a technology fellow and vice president with CH2M Hill and a recognized wastewater treatment and odour control expert.

Hosted by Masdar, the summit will address a wide array of energy solutions, sustainability, greenhouse gas, water technology and clean transport. Each of these themes are being addressed in Masdar City, the world's first carbon-neutral city being built near central Abu Dhabi. CH2M Hill is proud to serve as the programme manager for this ground-breaking city where alternative energy sources and progressive, sustainable technology innovations, resources, and solutions are being developed and implemented to solve the many real, complex and never-solved sustainable issues associated with Masdar City's location, climate, available resources—and vision.
