- PRESS RELEASE
Following two years of outstanding success, Carpetland will continue its sponsorship for a third straight year of the Commercialbank Qatar Masters, Presented by Dolphin Energy at Doha Golf Club this month.
"The 2008 tournament was a tremendous success for Carpetland and we are very proud to be associated with one of the best events on Doha's sporting calendar," said Mansour Khodjasteh, Managing Director, Al Aqili Furnishings.
After two years of sponsoring the event, we even established our own company in Doha under our new Decoworld name and concept and, as part of the business community, we look forward to many years of supporting the Commercialbank Qatar Masters, Presented by Dolphin Energy."
Carpetland is a big supporter of golf throughout the region having supported the Dubai Desert Classic for several years before being attracted the phenomenal growth of the Doha tournament.
"The organisers in Qatar always do a fantastic job and we appreciate their efforts," added Khodjasteh. "The Commercialbank Qatar Masters, presented by Dolphin Energy is one of the best platforms to expose the brand. We hope we can be part of this event for many years to come."
With over two million square metres of flooring sold in 2008, Carpetland products could cover the surface of Doha Golf Club over four times from tee to green - although it's likely players such as Qatar-bound Adam Scott, Sergio Garcia, Boo Weekley, Ernie Els and Retief Goosen would prefer the immaculate greens and fairways that await them on January 22.
"Supporters like Carpetland are vital to the success of any sporting property and we are delighted to have them on board for a third straight year," said Hassan Al Nuami, President of the Qatar Golf Association (QGA), the organisers of the event with the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) and Commercialbank.
Andrew Stevens, Commercialbank Group CEO said he was delighted that the event's sponsors were more than satisfied with the professionalism of the event.
"To hear sponsors say that they want to be involved with the tournament for years to come means that we are definitely on the right track," he said. "Our aim is to make everyone from players to sponsors to spectators feel this is a special tournament. With the support of the QGA and QOC, I believe this backing will be with us for years to come."
