This year, the Watani Programme is also introducing to its curriculum a field trip to a recently discovered archeological site to explore relics from the nation's history.
A number of children who took part in last year's camp will join supervisors from the Watani programme in training and overseeing some of the events and activities. The camp will also provide a scientific program based on games, experience, and adventure in coordination with the Emirates Scientific Club established by the Dubai Cultural Symposium.
Ahmed Al Mansoori, Director General of Watani, stated:
"The Watani 2009 Spring Break Camp aims to enhance children's awareness of their national identity whilst fostering their creativity in an atmosphere that combines enjoyment, entertainment and education."
Al Mansoori added, "We are keen to instill in them the spirit of civic responsibility and to train them to become active members of society. We aim to convey these messages in collaboration with various institutions including families, clubs, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations."
The Camp is designed to be a meeting place for a fun and education with state-of-the-art equipment, services, and activities including football, basketball, and volleyball fields, and recreational games in addition to horse-riding club, picnic areas, swimming pools, barbecue areas, global village, green fields, pony, horse, and camel riding, cafes, train, and an arena.
The camp is open to children (boys and girls) between 7 - 14 years old from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. To take part in the Watani 2009 Spring Break Camp, please fill out the registration form online at Watani website.
