Vergnet to showcase Farwind twin-bladed wind turbines at Environment 2009
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, January 18 - 2009 at 16:26
- PRESS RELEASE
French company Vergnet will be attending Environment 2009 to show its range of Farwind twin-bladed wind turbines, which are specially adapted to areas with limited infrastructures and extreme weather conditions.
Farwind technology represents a significant advance in wind-turbine design: Vergnet can tread where most major wind-turbine manufacturers do not venture, thus allowing new developers or isolated regions access to a different kind of energy.
The Birdlike twin-bladed rotor (from 62 to 32 metres diameter), sweeping a larger area, provides a higher energy yield even in cyclonic zones. The variable-speed generator, power electronics and drive (the Eclectic system) facilitate the absorption of variations and cuts in current (up to one per day) and the supply of good quality current to the grid. The Delta-3 teeter hub reduces the stress placed on the mast and shafts, while the blades' regulation pitch provides adjustments in response to wind jolts.
The lowering system simplifies maintenance and blade cleaning. Given their modular construction, performed on the ground in the case of the GEV MP turbine, or using a patented system (Verlift) in the case of the GEV HP, no crane is required during installs. Lastly, the guyed mast allows having a lighter mast structure, which in turn facilitates transport and install (a reduced mooring foundation).
The entire production process, from manufacturing to logistics, complies with ISO 9001 standards. Moreover, Germanischer Lloyd and DEWI certifications further demonstrate the company's demands in terms of quality.
The company is supported by its local subsidiaries that provide a wide range of services, including spare parts guarantees and management as well as total operation. Its work can be seen on all continents. In addition, the company is in a position to monitor operations 24/7 on all of its turbines from the head office.
A true, comprehensive partner in wind-energy projects, Vergnet is able to conduct economic and financial feasibility studies, as well as analyses on electrical and grid connection, and on energy yield. Vergnet also develops innovative solutions such as wind-powered desalination plants, wind/diesel coupling solutions, wind-powered pumping and more.
