RBS launches first ever credit card for weekend goers

The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) revealed today the UAE's first ever credit card dedicated to the weekend. The Weekend Card takes spending during the weekend to the next level, providing double cash back on weekend purchases, and great discounts redeemable throughout the weekend at clubs, discos, amusement parks, adventure activities and a wide variety of restaurants in the UAE.

The Weekend Card is targeted at people who like to have fun with friends and family, those who have a sense of adventure and who like to try different things at the weekend. The card earns cash back on every swipe and double the cash back at weekends with no confusing tier levels. Cardholders receive discounts and offers from social hot spots like Trader Vic's, Da Gama, Lucianos, Its Mirchi, St Maxim's and Ushna, as well as free movies, free entrance to Wild Wadi and Ski Dubai.

"This card works for you 24/7, whether you are making day-to-day purchases or using the card for buying something special. Our aim with the Weekend Card is to help young working professionals get more rewards so that they can enjoy their hard earned weekends,"


said Mr Burhan Khan, Head of Retail Banking, UAE.

"In a market with a lot of similarly positioned credit cards, we searched for an area that was not being catered to by any other card issuer in the UAE. We discovered many residents and clients werelooking for a credit card that added real benefits around the weekend. So, we created a comprehensive credit card that gives loads of benefits during the weekend," he explained.

The Weekend Card offers valuable benefits such as 'buy one get one free' vouchers to night life venues like clubs and top restaurants. Weekend excursions and adventures abroad are only a few elements of RBS's latest card innovation and cardholders can expect more benefits to be added with special promotions in the coming months.
