The Board of Directors reviewed the progress made by TCO during 2008 and the key strategic themes for 2009. These themes have been developed in consultation with key stakeholders in Government of Dubai and focus on innovative service delivery, efficiency and development/sharing of knowledge. The Board unanimously approved the plan submitted for 2009.
"I am pleased with the progress made so far. TCO will continue to follow its mandate to be a strategic partner in public sector innovation. However, it will need to make operational adjustments to assist the Government departments in dealing with specific challenges in the current environment. It will focus on generating ideas and implement cross-cutting initiatives that enable integrated decision making and improve efficiency of the services,"added H.E. Ahmad Bin Byat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TCO and the Secretary General of the Executive Council of Dubai.
Huda Al Hashimi, CEO said, "The TCO model has now been tested successfully over multiple projects with various Government departments such as the Dubai Health Authority, Community Development Authority, Department of Economic Development, and Dubai Civil Defense. In 2009 we will build on these initial successes We are also bringing forward our knowledge agenda to structure Dubai's various successes into shareable intellectual capital."
The Consulting Office is an initiative of the Government of Dubai and provides top-tier advisory services to public sector organizations. TCO also focuses on capturing, developing and exporting Dubai's knowledge and capabilities in the public sector.
TCO is currently working with various government departments in Dubai to assist them in their current initiatives towards reform as outlined in the Dubai Strategic Plan 2015.
