MTV Arabia announces exclusive sponsorship of Jeddah United Basketball tournament

MTV Arabia, the leading youth entertainment channel, announced today its sponsorship of the 'Jeddah United Basketball tournament' to be held in Saudi Arabia, Alroshan Mall in Jeddah, from January 14-23.

Through its first direct interaction with youth in Saudi, MTV Arabia aims through this tournament to promote the importance of sports and inculcate the spirit of competition and excellence among young people.

The 'Jeddah United Basketball Tournament' will consist of 20 amateur teams that will compete throughout the entire week. The winning team will receive 15,000 Saudi Riyals, in addition to scholarships provided by the Prince Sultan College for tourism and business.

"Our strong presence in KSA comes within our framework to continue interacting with young people in all Arab countries. We aim to attract the young generation and engage them in an open dialogue, encouraging them to artistically express themselves."


Samr Al Marzouqi, MTV Arabia Channel Manager, said

MTV Arabia had a strong presence in Egypt last summer where it has established a number of events and recreational activities, including concerts, competitions and numerous awards.
