Emirates Industrial Cities Board of Directors discusses 2008 summary, prepares to elect new Board of Directors

The Emirates Industrial Cities Company's Board of Directors held its first meeting of 2009 led by Sheik Abdullah bin Fahid Al Shakrah, Chairman of the Emirates Industrial Cities Company and Al Hanoo Holding, the main developer of the Emirates Industrial City project.

The meeting discussed a number of topics, including that current status of the Emirates Industrial City project and the upcoming elections for the company's Board of Directors.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Fahid Al Shakrah said of the meeting:
"Al Hanoo is determined to complete its Sharjah signature projects, Al Nujoom Islands and Emirates Industrial City, in 2009. This goal has been set despite the devastating effects of the global financial crisis that have caused many big projects in the UAE, and the region, to be delayed or even halted."


Al Shakrah added, "We have invested a tremendous amount of work into the Emirates Industrial City project and have delivered, according to schedule, a number of plots to investors. All basic services and amenities, including roads, lighting, electricity, water and safety measures, have been installed under the supervision of representatives from the appropriate authorities to ensure safe operation and maximum quality standards."

The new un-audited budget for 2009 was discussed during the meeting, with recommendations from previous meetings reflected in the new budget. Those in attendance also set the date for the upcoming general committee meeting during which a new Board of Directors will be elected, as the current Board of Directors has completed its three year term.

The meeting was attended by Sheik Abdullah bin Fahid Al Shakrah, Emirates Industrial Cities Company Chairman, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Zamil, Vice Chairman and Board Member, and Members Mohammed Abdul Aziz Al Habib, Ibrahim bin Suaydan, Moqbil bin Sulayman bin Abdul Rahman Al Thukair.
