The Middle East's only military logistics event is to be held at the Armed Forces Officers Club, Abu Dhabi from the 25th to 27th January 2009.

Michael McGill, Conference Director of Defence IQ, IQPC Middle East, says:
"Drawing on high-level expertise from around the world, Defence Logistics Middle East acts as a peer-to-peer review for senior military logisticians by providing an opportunity to network in a highly focused environment with both military and industry leaders."

Defence Logistics Middle East has been designed to transform the region's military logistics infrastructure into a true force multiplier and revolutionize the operational capability of the Armed Forces. Developed in collaboration with global military logistics leaders, the event features practical solutions to drive maximum efficiency from logistics processes.

"The geography of the Middle East region means the logistical challenges faced are often greater than elsewhere. Extreme temperatures, the need to transport food and water to remote locations, vast stretches of uninhabited land mass, and combinations of land-based and sea-based facilities all result in increased logistical challenges," says McGill.

McGill added, "Against this backdrop, logistics professionals are also trying to achieve the cost and time savings being demanded of them, and of course, the consequences of failure in this environment are more than financial."

International experts speaking at the event include Major General James E. Chambers, Commanding General, United States Army Combined Arms Support Command (CASCOM), and Colonel Mike Boomer, Chief of Operational Support Transformation, Canadian Operational Support Command (CANOSCOM). Also featured are experts from NATO HQ, the World Food Programme, the UN, KBR, Agility Defense and Government Services, PRTM Aerospace and Defense, Aggreko International Power Projects, and IFS Defence.
