This is the fourth year that The International Academy of Television Arts and Science host the awards which will recognize excellence in content created and designed for viewer interaction and/or delivery on a digital platform.
Three Emmy Awards for Digital Program-Fiction, Non-Fiction and Children & Young People will be presented during a ceremony at the MIPTV Opening Cocktail on March 30, 2009 in Cannes, France.
IDEA celebrates the world's best examples of innovative content for any interactive platform including mobile, internet or interactive TV. The awards are a partnership between MIPTV, the international content market for interactive media and the International Academy of Television Arts and Science, the largest organization of global broadcasters, with members from nearly 70 countries and over 400 companies.
Over the past 18 years Nashwa has become an accomplished media personality with her talk show, 'Nashwa', and her own production company, Pyramedia, which has offices in London, Cairo, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and New York and has produced hits such as 'Millions' Poet' and 'Prince of Poet's' TV competitions on Abu Dhabi TV.
More recently, Nashwa was awarded the Gold prize at the Tenth Gulf Radio and Television Production Festival held in Bahrain for her show 'Nashwa' and landed a coveted spot for the second time on Forbes Arabia's list of the 50 Most Powerful Businesswomen in the Arab World as well as receiving a nomination for 'Best Entertainer' at the 2008 Rose D'Or Awards in Switzerland.
