Mr. Ibrahim Abdullah Al Hamer, Managing Director, Bahrain Air, highlighted that the UAE is a very important travel destination on the world map. Dubai and Abu Dhabi International Airports are among the most growing world airports, with around 50m passengers during the last year.
Mr. Ibrahim Abdullah Al Hamer highlighted that budget airlines in the Middle East witnessed quick growth during the last few years. He expects that budget airlines development will be notable promoted within the coming period because of the current world economic crisis. He point out that budget airline companies witnessed a huge demand during the last period owing to significant economic developments in the region states and the large number of passengers, either expatriates or tourists, from/to the region states.
Moreover, he added that budget airlines will witness increased growth because of the current world economy crisis and under liquidity. Therefore, a large number of passengers are expected to turn to affordable airlines owing to its reasonable cost compared to commercial flights.
As for Bahrain Air developments, Mr. Al Hamer indicated that new modern Airbus planes will join Bahrain Air fleet very soon, pointing out that Bahrain Air is now flying from Bahrain to 17 world destinations and will be increased to 19 world destinations within the first three months of the current year, 2009.
In March 2009 Bahrain air will launch its first direct flight to Abu Dhabi, Calcutta in India and Katmandu in Nepal. Bahrain Air is planning to launch new flights to many countries in South East Asia.
Mohamed Al Johmani, Managing director, O2 Marketing Communications, assured that Bahrain Air is one of the promising affordable airline companies in the region. It could, within a short period, establish firmly in travel world market and achieve a large number of passengers owing to its excellent services.
