Daman confirmed that it will continue to provide coverage to its members enrolled in the Health Insurance Scheme at its network of healthcare providers in Abu Dhabi with an annual limit of Dhs250,000.
H.E. Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Health Authority - Abu Dhabi and Daman stated that the decision to maintain the premium of the Basic Plan is one of many measures taken aiming to serve the best interest of all members enrolled in the Basic Health Insurance Scheme, continuing to provide affordable quality healthcare services to the Emirate's residents and employees.
Dr. Al Mazrouei commended Daman's efforts to keep the premium at the same cost for the third consecutive year despite the rising costs of healthcare services and providing quality products to its members.
Daman's Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Michael Bitzer said:
"Despite the increasing cost of healthcare, we've managed to maintain the Dhs600 premium, and we will continue to work with all healthcare facilities, as well as HA-AD, in order to stabilize the costs of health insurance policies."
According to the Health Insurance Law N.23 for year 2005, Daman has exclusive rights to the government subsidized Abu Dhabi Plan. This Basic Plan is issued to those with an income of Dhs4000 plus accommodation or Dhs5000 without accommodation.
To date, Daman covers more than 850,000 people in the Basic Plan in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. This Plan offers coverage in Daman's network of providers in Abu Dhabi and emergency coverage throughout the UAE and an annual limit of Dhs250,000.
