Dominick Keenaghan, president of show organizers INSIGHTS explained that whilst call centre vendors are experiencing some market slowdown and delayed projects just like everybody else at present, the need for improved customer service in the region has not diminished and many organizations are relying on their strengths here to help them through the downturn.

"Customer service initiatives tend to be partnership-oriented and companies can't do without the specialist skills of their contact centre vendors without adversely affecting their own performance. So, what we are seeing for the MECC '09 exhibition is an increased effort by existing regional vendors to highlight and remind customers about their unique skills and solutions whilst also witnessing the initial market entry of a whole raft of new customer management vendors with specialisms in particular areas such as performance management, customer loyalty and business unit intelligence. These developers are looking to take advantage of the virtually untapped markets for these types of applications in the Middle East."

Whilst the MECC show is renowned for its consultative and solutions approach, the range of state-of-the-art technologies on view is sure to exhilarate the show's many tech-savvy visitors; IT managers in particular will have much to contemplate. The technologies range from the latest in IP communications solutions including video call centres and unified communications to automated offerings covering speech recognition, business analysis and real-time performance dashboards, and all the way through to the latest in CRM, Customer Experience Management and customer retention systems.

MECC '09 show visitors will be able to interact with a slew of subject matter experts on the various stands proficient in explaining emerging contact centre concepts (and eager to demo their latest offerings!) whilst the comprehensive program of free daily seminars offers attendees the opportunity to catch up with the industry's latest trends and new product/service developments. Various enhancements to the free public seminars program at the MECC '09 Exhibition this year include an ask-the-experts panel poised to answer "any call centre question under the sun", an in-depth briefing on the Middle East Call Centre Awards process and how to enter, and a top 10 most important actions to take in a call centre during the current credit crunch.
