Sanyo Gulf FZE, a subsidiary of Sanyo Electric Co. Ltd (Sanyo) is pleased to introduce its new line-up of Dual Camera Xactis, a line-up that redefines digital imaging with a wide line-up of cameras that take both photos and videos specifically designed to enhance active lifestyles.

The new mixed form factor (Horizontal, Vertical) line-up of six (6) cameras include new waterproof HD models (VPC-WH1, VPC-CA9), Compact HD units (VPC-TH1, VPC-CG10), and Full HD 60p cameras (VPC-FH1, VPC-HD2000). The new line-up will be available starting from the end of March 2009.

Sanyo Dual Camera Xactis combine the benefits of digital still cameras and camcorders into one stylish and compact unit, offering the freedom to take both photos and videos separately, but also seamlessly. Further, there is no need to switch modes to take the perfect photo while filming video or switch playback modes when viewing a multi-media slideshow.

Dual Camera Xactis are the only cameras that feature in-camera the unique slide-show function capable of viewing both photos and videos without having to stop and switch modes, both when viewing on the camera or when watching from the camera on the television.

Ready to take high resolution photos and record high definition videos in both vertical and horizontal form factors, Sanyo offers a variety of body styles providing more options to choose from. Also, because the cameras are small and compact, they are ultra-portable, as well as easy to hold for active filming and shooting while on the go.

The 2009 Dual Camera line-up includes the same advanced dual capability with both traditional television viewing and computer-use/viewing, including instant sharing on the web. Moreover, many are compatible with several optional lenses, just like a pro-level camera. Some of the 2009 models offer an amazing recording time of up to 3 hours 20 minutes (TH1, WH1) thanks to a small but powerful Sanyo battery and an engine designed to save energy.

The Full HD Dual Camera Xactis are truly the benchmark in high definition, offering 1920 (horizontal) x 1080 (vertical) pixels, and 60 frames per second to record crystal clear and smooth motion for videos. These highly advanced cameras do not only offer the regular 1080i (interlaced) format, recording at 60 fields per second, but with the Sanyo proprietary CMOS engine, recording is possible in 1080p(progressive) format—this means recording at a full 60 frames per second. With this higher frame rate capturing ability, videos look more professional, with smoother, clearer images.

Also, these fully equipped Full HD models offer the latest in zooming technology, with a special 16x advanced zoom function. The new-style zoom gives a broader view as it zooms in closer than previous models, meaning more of the scene makes it into the zoom than ever before.
