"Almost 60% of the GCC population is under 25 years old, ensuring high growth rate in the beauty market. The beauty products and services market is worth more than Dhs7.3bn in Saudi Arabia. Beauty sales for the UAE are forecasted to exceed Dhs3.3bn by 2010; Dubai accounts for almost 70% of it, amounting to Dhs2.3bn," remarked Ms. Andrea Werner, senior show manager of Beau-tyworld Middle East.

Projects such as the Beauty and Fragrance Park by Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority, and Beautyland in Dubailand worth Dhs1bn, are also boosting the market. The Park will feature a full scale of amenities like advanced test labs, wholesale outlets, cooling stores and warehouses. Beautyland will have a beauty museum, beauty academy selling branded cosmetics, and therapeutic treatments in-cluding health and organic nutrition.

"For those starting out and for those interested in asserting control over their brands, Beautyworld Middle East is a market focused exhi-bition which creates an ideal platform for manufacturers to access decision makers from the local market; and for existing regional busi-ness to source international suppliers of high-end beauty products. From a professional's viewpoint, the vital statistics of the Gulf couldn't look more appealing," added Ms. Werner.

Highlights of this year's Beautyworld Middle East are the Walk of Beauty, a popular show for the latest hair and make-up trends; and the Nail and Make-Up Competition.

Beautyworld Middle East, which runs alongside Wellness and Spas Middle East, will host 800 exhibitors representing over 1,500 brands from 50 countries, with an expected visitor attendance of 18,000 from over 100 countries.
