Vast & Untapped Reserves:
Iraq has vast and untapped mineral deposits located throughout its various provinces and regions, offering unrivalled opportunities for the extraction of key minerals such as sulphur, phosphorate, salt, gypsum, limestone and ironstone, as well as range of metallic minerals.
The plentiful reserves and diversity of the resources available make the country prime for extensive industrial expansion, as the contracts issued at last year's summit for a US$1 billion petrochemical plant, a steelworks plant worth US$600 million and two fertiliser factories valued at a minimum of US$200 million each attest.
Unrivalled Opportunities:
The summit will employ a unique meetings-based format that will enable senior decision makers including ministers, deputies and director generals from the Government of Iraq and KRG to hold face-to-face discussions with international operators, commodity traders and investors.
Participation will come from a number of key Iraqi & KRG ministries, including industry, construction, planning and development, environment and natural resources, as well as governors from leading provinces such as Anbar and Mosul and prime ministerial advisors.
To Confirm Attendance:
Participation is strongly recommended for all international operators keen to play a role in Iraq's industrial transformation and sign memorandums of understanding and letters of intent. The summit is the only business forum that provides this unique opportunity under the Ministry of Industry & Minerals.
