GE Healthcare highlights leadership position in molecular imaging at Arab Health 2009
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, January 28 - 2009 at 09:44
- PRESS RELEASE
GE Healthcare is showcasing the company's new positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) Discovery PET/CT 600 platform with MotionFree technologies; single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) imaging applications, an array of new pre-clinical imaging devices and radiopharmaceutical offerings at Arab Health 2009.
"Arab Health 2009 is a premier event to show GE's comprehensive offering of molecular imaging solutions," said Gene Saragnese, Vice President and General Manager of GE Healthcare's global CT and Molecular Imaging businesses. "We'll show breakthroughs in everything from new imaging agents and pre-clinical devices to new PET/CT platforms and the future of SPECT technology. GE Healthcare continues to offer the most complete line of clinically relevant molecular imaging technologies."
The new scanner features GE-exclusive VUEPoint HD imaging, the highest-sensitivity crystals in the industry for greater lesion detectability, and full field-of-view imaging combined with a robust patient table capable of holding 500 lbs to image more patients.
GE is featuring two breakthrough additions to the company's flagship 4-slice SPECT/CT, the Infinia Hawkeye 4 which improve clarity and diagnostic confidence to help transform the nuclear medicine department. The Infinia Hawkeye 4 is a very flexible upgradeable platform, for which additional software packages will be available in the near future.
GE is also showcasing a line of pre-clinical imaging devices that illustrate its leadership in imaging for research. The newest product is the CT120, a CT product capable of imaging a mouse's beating heart, with an X-ray more than 50 times as powerful as the previous product.
Molecular imaging is only possible with the latest in contrast agents and radiopharmaceuticals. GE's FASTlab, also featured at Arab Health, is the first multi-tracer PET chemistry synthesis platform to feature a cassette that incorporates pre-measured, pre-loaded reagents—a dramatic innovation that delivers higher yields, improved reproducibility and faster synthesis.
These technologies and clinical images are on display at the GE Healthcare stand (Hall 4 - Stand D20) at the exhibition in the Dubai International Exhibition Centre.
