In a year when Land Rover also celebrated its 60th Anniversary, a total of 11,061 cars were sold in the Middle East and North Africa region in 2008, compared to 9,213 in 2007, retaining Land Rover's position as the region's leading premium SUV manufacturer.
Robin Colgan, Managing Director Jaguar Land Rover Middle East and North Africa, said:
"Land Rover has always had a strong presence in the Middle East and North Africa, and these figures show that demand has increased across the entire region in 2008."
"We are proud to say we now have the strongest product line up in Land Rover's 61 year history and together with our importers, we are well placed to address the challenges in 2009," he added.
Other Land Rover highlights from 2008 included the launch of the world's biggest consumer CO2 carbon offset programme in the Gulf and Levant, a clear demonstration of the company's' commitment to the issue of sustainability and the environment in general.
