Furthermore, the event featured a variety of interactive social activities that included collective games and questions related to diabetes, in which participants showed active contribution.
Dr. Hana Banat, Projects Director at RHAS, said:
"This project has achieved noteworthy success in spreading awareness and knowledge concerning diabetes stemming from RHAS's vision of launching projects that tackle national health priorities."
During the event and in an interactive discussion with Dr. Banat participants shared some of the success stories and development they have achieved in adapting healthier lifestyle throughout their participation in the project.
Dr. Meyasser M. Zindah, Chief of Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases Department- Community Medicine Specialist welcomed participants saying "This project mainly contributes to the national efforts of increasing awareness and adapting preventive methods towards diabetes."
Dr. Zindah asserted on the importance of the role of civil society organizations and individuals themselves to spread awareness and knowledge regarding this disease.
Participants expressed their pleasure to be part of the GMCP, emphasizing on the level of benefits they received, whereby they were able to modify their daily behaviours and lifestyle accordingly, leading to better understanding of the disease and methods of preventing its complications.
The Global Micro-Clinic Project is a joint effort between the Royal health Awareness Society (RHAS) and the Ministry of Health (MoH); which addresses the diabetes epidemic in Jordan, and aspires to establish 300 Micro Clinics that will include more than 900 participants in two areas; Jabal Al Naser and Ain Al Basha.
