Qatari Businesswomen Forum launches Corporate Ambassador Program

Qatari Businesswomen Forum (QBWF) is launching its Corporate Ambassador Program with an innovative, high-level event on February 10th and 11th at the Sheraton Doha Hotel titled "SMEs: Engines for Growth".

This event will educate professional businessmen and women on skills needed to start and grow a business and will provide networking opportunities. The event will feature prominent U.S. consultants as speakers and panelists.

The Corporate Ambassador Program is an innovative and dynamic new program designed to develop the entrepreneurial and professional skills of men and women by connecting high-level executives from the U.S. with emerging business leaders from Qatar and the GCC. This program empowers businessmen and women in Qatar and the Middle East - North Africa (MENA) region by providing outlets through which they may improve the management, business development, marketing and communications skills necessary to expand their enterprises, help provide for their families and create jobs within their communities. This program is a component of the Middle East North Africa (MENA) Businesswomen's Network, of which the Qatari Businesswomen Forum is a member , and is presented in coordination with the U.S. State Department's Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) and Vital Voices Global Partnership.

The event's aim is to improve entrepreneurs' and business professionals' knowledge and experience, build networking opportunities and offer insights into current global economic issues. The event's three featured speakers, Barbara Gentry, Principal, Gentry Consulting; Joey Tamer, President, Small Office Strategies, Inc.; and Y. Renee Lewis, President and CEO, Pensare Group, have a combined experience of over 60 years as CEOs and strategic consultants to entrepreneurs and emerging businesses in varied fields.

Our goal is to build a solid foundation for business professionals' development through networking, training, and exposure to good business role models and enhancing personal and professional skill sets. About the QBWF:

Qatari Businesswomen Forum was established in year 2000 to enhance women's contribution to the economic activity which constitutes a real gain both to Qatari women and the society at large; and to assist Qatari businesswomen to understand business and economic laws and upgrade their skills and capabilities to help strengthen their role in the process of overall economic development.

Recently, QBWF initiated a new affiliation with Qatar Businessmen Association (QBA), and implemented new strategies aiming to develop and promote the role played by the Qatari businesswomen locally, regionally and internationally.

The MENA Businesswomen's Network is a partnership between local businesswomen's organizations across the Middle East and North Africa, Vital Voices Global Partnership and the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) of the U.S. Department of State. The goal of the partnership is to build a network of businesswomen in MENA in order to expand the number of women in business, to increase the value of their businesses, to advance the role of women in society, and to promote a regional culture of women's entrepreneurship. The MENA Businesswomen's Network provides a forum for peer learning, information exchange, business development and access to education, resources and tools, all of which are supportive of expanding economic opportunities and building networks for businesswomen in the region. Members of the Network are organizations that are committed to contributing to economic growth and reform, to supporting the needs of women-led businesses and professional women and to having a significant social impact. Network Hubs are in place in ten countries: Bahrain, Dubai, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Qatar, Tunisia, and the West Bank/Palestinian Territories. Additional Hubs will be added in 2008.
