'As companies resize and reposition their HR strategies in response to the global economic downturn, Careers UAE becomes more relevant than ever to ensure the Emiratisation programme remains a priority for companies in both the private and public sectors,'
said Mr. Helal Saeed Almarri, the CEO of Dubai World Trade Centre, the show's organiser.
'This year, the event provides UAE nationals the valued opportunity to improve their understanding of the changing trends and developments in the employment and training market here. This will help equip them with the right training programmes to better prepare them for their entry into the work force. At the same time, companies will find Careers UAE useful in discovering the new Emirati talents in the market, based on their renewed demands and expectations of their businesses as they invest in their long term future here in the UAE.' he concluded.
Essa Al Mulla, Executive Director, Emirates Nationals Development Programme (ENDP) added to this by saying, 'ENDP constantly focuses on the benefit of hiring graduate UAE nationals into the Private Sector. Having conducted numerous studies to understand why there is a gap between UAE Nationals and Private Sector companies and having held meetings with key decision makers of top organisations in the region. The result was the signing of agreements by these organisations to provide training and development programmes for today's Youth Nationals'.
Al Mulla also added that,'ENDP with the cooperation of the sponsors from the Private Sector has already successfully conducted many training initiatives and a number of recruitment open days over the last year, in order to provide as many UAE National job seekers as possible the opportunity to apply for the new programme.
The outcomes of these initiatives exceeded expectations and in 2008 alone 1841 UAE job seekers were employed within various companies in the Private Sector as well as Semi-Government Sector'.
With only 8 weeks remaining until the event a significant number of high profile companies based both within Dubai and also the region are confirmed as exhibitors at the event, these include; Al Futtaim, DEWA, Dubal, Emirates Group, Etisalat and Meydan to name a few.
Yaqoob Yousuf Hassan, Deputy Chief Executive, Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) said: "Career Exhibitions offer us a great opportunity to communicate directly with national graduates from local and international universities as well as graduates from colleges, where we can inform them of the various job opportunities available in the Bank, as well as the benefits of joining CBD. In addition, we can also update them of the training programmes available which we hold at our Training and Development Centre".
He added: "Emiratisation has been one of the Bank's priorities. We have always aimed to attract and train nationals, appointing them to shoulder the responsibilities and contribute efficiently to the Bank's growth and prosperity.' He also said that 'Emiratisation is a systematic process and is not only concerned with increasing the number of national employees as a proportion of the total workforce, but also aims to advance their skills in an effective manner'.
Seen as one of the key events in the exhibition arena it will also provide UAE nationals with the opportunity to attend specialised seminars and workshops free of charge that will allow them to improve their career skills by interacting with professional training managers. More information on these targeted workshops will be available online on the Careers UAE website in the coming weeks.
Asim Al Ali, Head of HR Dubai Bank said, "Dubai Bank takes great pride in participating at 'Careers UAE 2009'.
