Incredible India at Global Village

This season, India Pavilion brings about 310 stalls that showcase the country's huge variety of products ranging from the traditional to contemporary.

The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Handicrafts and Handloom Export Council (HHEC) under the administrative control of the Ministry of Textiles support the India Pavilion this year. HHEC delivers wide range of traditional items that reflect the rich and diversified culture of India. Famous choices include the stalls selling Pashmina shawls that are fully hand woven made from Kashmir and handmade jewellery made from lac, and stalls dedicated for henna designs and name-carving on a single grain of rice.

On the other hand, the Central Cottage Industries Emporium of New Delhi, also under the Ministry of Textiles, promotes special products such as bags, bed sheets and covers, marble-based frames, Jamavar shawls from Punjab, and from West Bengal the unique silk-based garments with embroidery known as Kanthawork.

Visitors can get the overall experience of India with the exclusive line of handicrafts from different states of the country. This is another government undertaking under the Ministry of Rural Development. Adding to the cultural array of goods at Global Village, the Kerala Khadi and Village Industry Development present in the pavilion the handlooms and handicrafts produced from the natural fiber known Khadi.

Like always, stalls allotted to authentic gold and diamond jewellery are found at the India Pavilion. Well-known jewellery brands have set up their shops to allure the Global Village patrons with their offering of gold and diamond jewellery.

Another special feature at the pavilion is the participation of several real estate companies that tender attractive investment options in properties. Other than the great shopping choices in the India Pavilion, there is a nightly activity that amuses the visitors. Dances are performed onstage providing live cultural show every night. Aside from these, India Pavilion has an Indian Food Court that brings a wonderful treat of numerous types of Indian cuisine and traditional delicacies.

For the past years, the Indian pavilion has achieved various awards like 'The Best Pavilion', 'Best Folklore' and the 'Best Global Day Award'. The India Pavilion is located near the entrance of Gate 4. It has a stunning grand façade patterned on the renowned Karwadha palaces in India.
