- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, January 29 - 2009 at 16:23
- PRESS RELEASE
HH Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) - organisers of the Al Ain Aerobatic Show 2009 - made a special visit to the four-day aviation extravaganza today.
His Highness also stopped at a number of aircraft on static display, from replica remote control planes to Tourism Development and Investment Company's Cessna, which is used to fly passengers to Sir Bani Yas Island in Al Gharbia - which is at the core of its Desert Islands nature-based destination.
However, it wasn't all state-of-the-art avionics on display at Al Ain Aerobatic Show. His Highness also toured the expanded Heritage Village, where traditional Bedouin arts and crafts were on display; including falconry, basket weaving, traditional bread making and Arabian dance troupes.
And with safety continuing to be of paramount importance at the show, which concludes on Saturday, the Al Ain police force demonstrated their life-saving skills. In a special display for His Highness, the Garden City's emergency response unit simulated a car crash rescue mission, complete with the 'Jaws of Life' and paramedic care.
The Al Ain Aerobatic Show 2009 has a high-profile sponsorship line-up including Pilatus, Abu Dhabi National Hotels, Etihad Airways and Al Ain Mineral Water as Gold sponsors; Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies and Tourism Development and Investment Company as Silver sponsors and Emirates Motor Company as the official vehicle sponsor. It is supported by Abu Dhabi Airports Company.
