Abu Dhabi pushes energy plans

Despite the global economic slowdown, Abu Dhabi has declared its interests to pursue projects worth billions of dirhams to expand oil, gas and power projects, The National has reported. The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) has awarded Dhs12.9bn in contracts to develop three onshore oilfields. Projects will move ahead for the Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company, another Adnoc unit including plans for intensive drilling at the Zakum oilfield and to develop five new offshore oilfields.
