Mitel announces patent cross license agreement with IBM

Mitel announced a patent cross license agreement with IBM, the cross license provides mutual access to a broad range of patents that will enable the companies to pursue strategic opportunities created by the transition to unified communications.
"IBM has a rich history of licensing intellectual property to encourage innovation and collaboration," said Dan Cerutti, general manager, IBM Intellectual Property Licensing. "Patent cross licenses provide a foundation for organizations to cooperate and better compete in the global economy."
Mitel and IBM maintain active patent and technology licensing programs that offer licensing arrangements to companies interested in their respective portfolios.
