GE Healthcare, Dr Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group to drive healthcare projects in Saudi Arabia

GE Healthcare, the healthcare business of General Electric Company (GE), and Dr Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group (SHMG) in Saudi Arabia progressed with the signing of a framework for their strategic partnership.

This critical step follows the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in April 2008.

SHMG is a leading provider of healthcare services in the Middle East and the aim of the partnership is to provide development consultancy, advanced medical equipment and services for the private hospitals and clinics being set up by the Group in the Kingdom.

Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib, Chairman, SHMG said: "GE Healthcare is a global leader in innovative healthcare technologies and solutions. Their commitment to continuous medical education and expertise in providing the full spectrum of equipment will facilitate our delivery of high-quality and innovative healthcare across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia."

GE Healthcare also plans to offer assistance in setting up primary healthcare centres based on market analysis and hospital synergies. The company will facilitate medical and paramedical education programme for hospital and clinical staff apart from introducing a modern hospital governance system.
