GlaxoSmithKline to cut 6,000 jobs

British pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline has said that it will cut 6,000 jobs globally, due to challenges in the industry and competition from generic manufacturers. AstraZeneca announced last week that it would cut 15,000 jobs by 2013.
