At the end of December, MTI Automotive, Land Rover's exclusive importer in the country, recorded a phenomenal 49% increase compared to the same period last year.
Leading the sales was the dynamic Range Rover Sport which achieved an impressive growth of 15%. The exceptional efforts of the sales, marketing and after-sales teams ensured increasing sales for the flagship, The Range Rover, the compact SUV, Land Rover LR2 and the Land Rover LR3 as well.
Commenting on these results, Ahmed El Gharib, General Manager, MTI Automotive, said:
"Our impressive 2008 results are due to the commitments of our team who are constantly working to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction which can be seen in the sales for The Range Rover and Land Rover LR3, as Egypt is the biggest market in North Africa for both vehicles."

Land Rover's strategy of providing customers with a choice of products that are sophisticated, premium, technologically advanced and suitable for all driving expectations has contributed to the growth of the Land Rover brand in Egypt and in the North Africa region.
Badreiddine Mansouri, Area Manager, Land Rover North Africa and Pakistan said, "MTI Automotive has achieved an impressive sales results for 2008. This further reiterates the strong positioning the brand enjoys in the region and shows more than ever that customers in Egypt want the breadth of capability that only a Land Rover can provide."
2008 saw Land Rover performing extremely well across other markets in North Africa. Morocco saw a 25% increase in sales, due in part to the popularity of the dynamic Range Rover Sport and the LR2, the latest addition and youngest member of the Land Rover portfolio.
Algeria was also a strong market, witnessing a growth of 267% vs. 2007, followed by Tunisia with an increase of 200%; whilst emerging markets such as Libya and Pakistan also showed promising growth.
Land Rover produces the world finest all terrain vehicles and has sustained its position at the forefront of the luxury SUV market. In 2008 Land Rover again achieved success in the Middle East and North Africa, with 2008 combined sales up 20% on the previous year, selling a total of 11,061 vehicles.
