The deal gives high profile exposure to the GAC brand at races, with the logo displayed on all three power boats used by the Qatari team, as well as at the team's base at the race. It also enables GAC Qatar to give its customers the thrill of watching the high-speed races up close from the VIP area.
The sponsorship deal is a natural extension of GAC's close working relationship with QMSF, as the company has handled the local logistics for the teams over the past five years.
QMSF President and power boat pilot Sheik Hassan bin Jabor al-Thani said they were proud to have GAC as the sponsor. Equally pleased with the strengthening ties is GAC Qatar's General Michael Sturesson who said it was an honour to support the world class tream, noting that Team Qatar's Ray Price clinched the world championship last season.
Upped the Ante in Sports
GAC Qatar has built a strong reputation in providing specialist logistics support for international sports event. Besides F1 Power Boat races, it has taken care of the complex logistics for include international events such as the Doha Asian Games, MotoGP, Superbikes and Class 3 Boat race.
"By sponsoring Qatar's F1 Power Boat team, we have raised the stakes in the sporting arena in line with the GAC Group's corporate brand awareness programme," added Sturesson. "We believe that sports sponsorship is the ideal vehicle to reinforce our message globally."
