Gulfood exhibition sold out

  • United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, February 03 - 2009 at 11:48
  • PRESS RELEASE

Gulfood organiser Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) has announced that exhibition space for this year's show has sold out despite a slowdown in the global economy.

Both international and local food and beverage chains are continuing to invest in the UAE's food and drink sector, despite the global economic downturn, says just-food.com - the food industry's leading online resource.

The region's leading food, drink and hospitality exhibition and the largest trade exhibition in the Middle East, has grown a further 20% through the allocation of more space at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) and the additional venue at Airport Expo Dubai, in order to meet exhibitors' augmented demand.

"DWTC welcomes the increased interest from exhibitors world-wide; participation at Gulfood is an integral part of the food industry's business plans. The growth of the show during unprecedented times in the economy highlights the significance and endurance of Gulfood as a leading brand," said Helal Saeed Al Marri, CEO, DWTC.

Gulfood takes place from 23 - 26 February 2009 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) and Airport Expo Dubai for the region's largest trade exhibition for food, drink, foodservice and hospitality equipment.

Some of the many additional attractions taking place at Gulfood 2009 include The Emirates Salon Culinaire 2009 - organised by the Emirates Culinary Guild - featuring professional chefs from the UAE hospitality and food industry competing against each other to highlight the service and food concepts within the region's hotels and restaurants.

The fourth Dubai International Food Safety Conference, organised by Dubai Municipality, will offer an opportunity for knowledge sharing with many of the leading industry speakers from around the world.

Gulfood will also host a series of management briefings on beverage trends, innovation and opportunities in the Gulf region organised by leading global consultancy Zenith International.

Gulfood is strictly a trade-only event and is open to business and trade visitors from within the industry only, proof of which must be provided at registration. General public and persons under the age of 21 will not be allowed into the exhibition.
