Springboard Women's Development program comes to a close

The closing ceremony was held at Sharq Village & Spa which sponsored the event along with Digital Print Centre.

The program included workshops, talks and assignments aimed at developing the personal and professional skills of Qatari women in employment. Candidates for the course came from diverse backgrounds including prestigious public and private sector organisations such as the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) and Qatar University.

Speaking on the success of the Springboard program, Aisha Alfardan - QBWF Vice Chairwoman said, "We always endeavour to provide female professionals with courses that can help them get ahead in their careers. With UK-accredited training schemes like this, Qatari women stand a strong chance of improving their outlook and succeeding in their chosen fields of work by learning from regional and global experts."

The Springboard workshops teach candidates valuable lessons in building confidence, communicating more effectively and constructing and managing goals for better results. As a result, outcomes include proficient problem-solving skills, improved customer relations and a highly motivated and focused staff. Coupled with talks by role models and leaders of industry, the Springboard program shares real life success stories as examples for Qatar's business professionals to learn from.

The QBWF has recently joined the MENA Businesswomen's Network which is a partnership between local businesswomen's organisations across the Middle East and North Africa, Vital Voices Global Partnership and the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) of the U.S. Department of State.

The goal of the partnership is to build a network of businesswomen in MENA, so as to expand the number of women in business, to increase the value of their businesses, to advance the role of women in society, and to promote a regional culture of women's entrepreneurship.
