AUD organizes its annual Career Fair

The American University in Dubai (AUD) held its annual Career Fair, entitled act now: aud careers today, on its campus.
The fair provided excellent opportunities for companies to connect with AUD students and alumni to discuss and interview for both current and future career related employment and internship opportunities.
President Lance de Masi and Dr. Jihad Nader, AUD's Provost and Chief Academic Officer, welcomed the participants and toured the fair meeting the representatives of the various local and international companies.
"AUD's annual Career Fair, act now: aud careers today, brings together companies interested in recruiting, and AUD graduates seeking employment," comments Ms. Sue Hunter, Career Services Manager at AUD.
This eagerly awaited event is growing yearly as an increasing number of employers have come to realize the benefits of hiring AUD graduates. "We even have several AUD alumni among the recruiting employers this year! Our Career Fair is the ideal opportunity for employers and our graduates to meet and interact," concludes Hunter enthusiastically.
Al Futtaim Training Centre, Riyad Bank, Samba Financial Group, and Unilever Middle East participated in the Career Fair as main sponsors of the event, while the list of support sponsors included Areva T & D, DEWA, Masdar, and Procter & Gamble Gulf FZE.
Mr. Zuhair Hameed Al-Haj, General Manager at Al Futtaim's Group Human Resources Department, commented, "The AUD Career Fair gave us the opportunity to interact with and employ competent university graduates with immense technical abilities."
In turn, the Vice President and Manager of the Recruitment Department at Riyad Bank, Mr. Khalid Fahad Al Huzaim, asserted that, "We ran across impressive resumes of AUD students and alumni during the Career Fair and the end result will be very promising."
Mr. Ahmad Al-Othaimeen, Assistant General Manager at Samba Financial Group, stated, "The AUD Career Fair, as in previous years, has been extremely well-organized this year, due to the sense of professionalism the AUD Career Services Office portrays."
Mr. Walid Tayel, Unilever's Leadership Development Manager in the Gulf and KSA, emphasized that, "Unilever is renowned for its ability to attract and develop business leaders by offering a variety of career opportunities across its business units and functions. Unilever is therefore very pleased to be working closely with the AUD Career Services Office in providing career-related opportunities and placing AUD graduates."
As for Mr. Voel Olonan, Recruitment Coordinator at AREVA, he asserted that, "We have collected remarkable resumes during the AUD Career Fair and were quite impressed by the good number of female engineering students and graduates who conveyed their interest in joining AREVA's team."
Mr. Nabil Affan Al Soufi, Senior Executive at the Recruitment Department of the Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) stressed that, "The AUD Career Fair is a great opportunity for us to meet eligible candidates who are graduates of one of the top universities in the region."
HR Coordinator at Procter & Gamble, Ms. Hotmian Sinaga, acknowledged the skills that the company has found in AUD graduates affirming that, "We are incessantly targeting AUD students and alumni as the AUD graduates who are working with us in the present have been up to our expectations all along; and this motivated us to participate in the AUD Career fair on a regular basis."
Among the corporate participants were Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, Artaaj Events, Axiom Telecom, Careertunity, Chalhoub Group, Deloitte & Touche (M.E.), DP World, Dubai Department of Tourism, Dubai PTG, Dubai Financial Services Authority, Emirates Specialties Co., Expeditors International, General Motors, Hewlett-Packard Middle East FZ LLC, Home Gallery, Johnson Controls Inc, JWT, Leo Burnett, Gulf Talent, Oman Insurance Company PSC, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Punj Lloyd Group, Roads & Transport Authority, Smartworld, Standard Chartered Bank, Tathmeer Invest, Tecom Investments, and ThyssenKrupp Elevator.
