Rajiv Ghandi University of Health Sciences Vice Chancellor visits Gulf Medical University and GMC Hospital and Research Centre, Ajman

Prof. S Ramananda Shetty Vice Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Bangalore, India along with Prof. Rajesh Shenoy Member of Syndicate of RGUHS & Chairman of Board of Studies in Allied Health Sciences visited Gulf Medical University on the 23th of December 2008.

They were taken around a tour of Gulf Medical University and GMC Hospital by Mr. Thumbay Moideen, President of Gulf Medical University, Ajman.

He appreciated and praised the activities and facilities of the University and also congratulated him on completion of 10yrs and his achievement for successfully having established such a high quality medical institution. President Mr. Thumbay Moideen presented a memento to the Vice Chancellor as a token of appreciation.

Vice chancellor and his team were briefed about the activities of the university with a short presentation by the Provost Prof. Gita Ashok Raj and several areas of mutual benefit were discussed.

The provost offered to open the Summer training program offered by GMU to the students of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and also discussed the possibilities of conducting joint conferences, sharing library resources and conducting proficiency training for allied health professionals.

GMU is recognized and approved as an institution for higher education by the Ministry of Higher Education, UAE. GMC is listed in WHO Directory of Medical Schools and also listed in IMED Directory. The main aim is to impart quality medical education. This is the first University, which offers admissions to both boys and girls of all nationalities. It has an international faculty and a student cohort from 44 nations.

The Admissions for the following programs has already started, Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Physical Therapy (BPT), Doctor of Dental Medicine-DMD and Doctor of Pharmacy - PharmD.
