LINK Development launches new Unified Communications for MS Office Communications Server 2007 R2

Software services company LINK Development today launched its second version of the Unified Communications Solutions, which works with Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 Release 2 (R2), an update to the award-winning Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007.

Based on Office Communications Server 2007 R2, LINK Development Unified Communications solutions introduce the new features related to telephone call management, such as the management of incoming calls, call delegation feature, team-call group feature and response group service.

Additional features enable enterprise cellular telephony users of Microsoft Office Communicator Mobile to set up and control enterprise voice calls through their cell-phones. User cell phones become one more unified communications endpoint that provide same level of connectivity and control as Office Communicator.

Our solutions based on Office Communications Server 2007 R2 introduce dial-in conferencing, enabling users to join an audio/video conference by dialing in using telephones on the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN).

Hanan Abdel Meguid, Chief Executive Officer of LINK Development, says that convergence represents the true value of Microsoft unified communications technologies.

"Today, people and businesses who have adopted technology find themselves struggling between the two worlds of computing and telephony, resulting in too many devices and too many applications that are not linked together. This new technology streamlines communications by combining e-mail, instant messaging, conferencing and voice communications onto a single, unified platform."

"LINK Development is excited about the positive impact Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 Release 2 will have on the unified communications experience," said Moz Hussain, director of the Unified Communications Group at Microsoft Corp. "Microsoft looks forward to working with LINK Development to develop solutions that enhance collaborative processes and increase business productivity for customers."

Hanan Abdel-Meguid adds: "As mentioned when we first launched our Unified Communications solutions, this will have the same impact e-mail had on businesses in the 1990s. Convergence provides flexible business communications solutions for end users and helps reduce companies' operational costs. Business communication becomes easier, faster and more efficient," she says.

While Unified Communications also has useful social applications, it is the business advantages that make it a growing trend. According to research company Dataquest, the greatest value of Unified Communications lies in its ability to minimize delay in business continuity while on the move. Dataquest estimates the current Unified Communications market to be worth $40 billion worldwide.

Implementing Microsoft unified communications in offices reported dramatic time savings due to more efficient communications and cost savings of 25% to 30% over traditional communications technologies. Forrester Consulting found in a study commissioned by Microsoft that organizations may achieve significant productivity improvements and cost savings with unified communications. The Forrester study created from the results of 15 in-depth interviews of Microsoft unified communications customers, found that these customers can achieve more than 500% return on investment (ROI) over three years by deploying Office Communications Server 2007.

"As a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, we feel confident that our Unified Communications Solutions will provide users of Office Communications Server 2007 R2 with enhanced functionality and significant value. LINK Development will work together with Microsoft to deliver fundamental enhancements to the way employees of our corporate customers in the region communicate and collaborate at work."
