TPI launches mega panel production plant in Abu Dhabi

Destined to claim the largest production capacity in the GCC, if not the entire region, the Abu Dhabi plant is set to introduce the greatest number of panels, within the highest levels of quality amidst the safest and most atmosphere friendly environment.

Mr. Bernard Nasr, Executive Director of TPI, who was personally involved in the minute details of the allocation of the world's most advanced technologies and the setting up of the plant, provides insight to the new production plant that sprawls over more than 13,700m2 of land in the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi (2) in Mussafah, UAE.

To test our strength and gauge our potential, we challenged ourselves to take on the world's best metal cladding manufacturers, and see if we can align ourselves against their production capacity and ability to maintain impeccable quality with massive production.

Our technology was supplied by the leaders in their field, and our specialized consultants spared no efforts in ensuring that the top-of-the-line technology and our superior raw materials were well matched to the soaring expectations that we had of this project. Today, and after two years of toiling and investing, we are proud to reveal the plant that we have worked hard on creating.

The plant houses a production facility for the manufacturing of polyurethane (PU) insulated wall and roof sandwich panels for industrial and commercial buildings, PU-insulated cold store/room panels for refrigerated buildings, polyurethane insulation slabs for ventilation ducting, floor, wall and roof insulation applications, as well as sheet metal profiles for cladding, roofing and other requirements of the cold store industry.

The sandwich panels are made with external rigid or flexible metallic / composite laminate layers, and the manufacturing process encompasses a series of machines for the unwinding and shaping of the flat sheet metal strips. The machinery is grouped in two levels for the processing of the two metallic layers which compose the sandwich panel.

The produced panels are cut to the predetermined lengths by means of triple disc flying saw at the cross-cutting unit. From the cross-cutting the panels are moved by means of conveyors automatically to the cooling unit, where the panels are vertically positioned for the necessary period for cooling and the final post-polymerization.

After the cooling period and post-polymerization the ready panels are processed by automated packing lines that lift, package and transport the completed panels to the loading area where they are lined up ready for transportation. The entire process is a continuous in-line process, that transforms the raw material into a finished product in the duration of twenty minutes.

The plant in Abu Dhabi is outfitted to manufacture a vast selection of products which include but are not limited to roof panels: 45/250 or 45/150 , those of a PU thickness of 50 mm, 60 mm, 70 mm, 80 mm, 100 mm, facing materials GI, Al, and also Al-laminate for the liner side, partition wall panels and cold store panels in an assortment of sizes such as 50, 60, 80, 100, 120, 150 and 175mm."
