The purpose of the trip was to introduce them to the key attractions that make the emirate an ideal tourist destination.

The trip included visits to points of interest such as the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization, Heritage Area (Heritage Museum, Sharjah Calligraphy Museum, Bait Al Naboodah, Al Eslah School and Souq Al Arsah), Al Mahatta Museum, Sharjah Archaeology Museum, Qanat Al Qasbaa, Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club, University City, Sharjah International Airport, Sharjah Aquarium and a number of Sharjah's major shopping malls.

The visit by representatives of key Ukrainian tourism agents is part of the efforts exerted by the authority to promote the emirate's tourist attractions as a unique opportunity for families to learn about heritage, history and culture. The growing number of European tourists visiting Sharjah during the last few years reflects the vital importance of establishing a strong presence in Ukraine's tourist market through a host of promotional activities and platforms.

Commenting on the visit, Director General of Sharjah Commerce & Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), H.E Mohamed A. Al Noman, said:
"No doubt such initiatives will help us introduce our unique tourist products to international tourism agents, keeping them abreast of the latest trends in the industry and thus significantly contributing to supporting the emirate's tourism sector."

"Sharjah is one of the most favorable destinations for European tourists. According to statistics from SCTDA, European tourists accounted for 35 per cent of the total tourist influx to the emirate in 2008, a figure that reflects the emirate's advanced position in the European tourism market as a highly attractive destination for family and cultural heritage tourism. Therefore, we are keen to further develop our presence in European tourism markets through participation in premier travel and tourism exhibitions in Europe, and by hosting key tourism agencies and media to visit and familiarize themselves with Sharjah", he clarified.

The Ukrainian travel and tourism representatives were impressed by what they saw in Sharjah, the Capital of Arab Culture. They expressed eagerness to introduce Sharjah's unique tourist attractions to the Ukrainian tourist community.
