High attendance on opening day of Middle East Electricity 2009

Middle East Electricity (MEE) 2009 was officially opened this morning by Helal Saeed Almarri, CEO of Dubai World Trade Centre.
"We've seen a strong flow of visitors since the show opened, in line with our projection that more than 49,000 key trade professionals from over 98 countries will visit the show this year," said Sarah Woodbridge, Group Director - Exhibitions, IIR Middle East - organisers of Middle East Electricity "Pre-registered visitors are up 25%, proving just how buoyant the Middle East energy industry is, and underlining the importance that governments throughout the region are placing on essential infrastructure - the one sector that remains recession-proof."
MEE 2009 runs through to Tuesday February 10th, and is open from 10am to 7pm. All sectors of the energy industry are covered, with special focus areas including water, lighting, new and renewable and nuclear energy.
Leaders from every sector of the industry are using the exhibition to showcase their latest product and service innovations, bringing invaluable expertise to the region, with 94% of visitors stating that visiting the show is a good and productive use of their time.
