The MoU underlines the joint commitment of both parties to the development of an ideal industrial environment in Abu Dhabi and their cooperative effort in facilitating all transactions and services for local, regional and international investors.
During the ceremony, Al Khaili said,
"This MoU with the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry serves to seal our partnership and pave the way for Abu Dhabi's industrial development by offering investors the most efficient and developed services and infrastructure, helping us to deliver on the Emirate's clear vision for a stronger economy. Through the development, operation and management of specialized economic zones, we at ZonesCorp strive to increase the competitive advantages of Abu Dhabi by adopting business models which focus on serving the investors."
Al Hameli praised the significant role that ZonesCorp plays in providing world-class infrastructure, services and facilities to investors in the Industrial Cities. "The signing of this MoU falls within ADCCI's strategic efforts to enhance its partnerships and provide services to all companies operating in Abu Dhabi, and specifically in locations near the company's operations," Al Hameli said.
Through the electronic exchange of data and information, the MoU gives ZonesCorp the authority to issue, amend and renew Chamber of Commerce Certificates for industrial businesses operating in the industrial cities, as well as collect fees on the Chamber's behalf, streamlining the process and saving time for investors.
ADCCI will work with ZonesCorp to encourage foreign investment by promoting ZonesCorp's services and facilities to foreign delegations and at exhibitions and conferences attended by the Chamber, Al Hameli said. The two parties intend to create specialized committees to jointly receive foreign delegations and industrial investors, as well as attend regional and international exhibitions and conferences, in order to increase awareness and attract investment in Abu Dhabi's industrial sector.
To further enhance the capabilities of the industrial sector, the two entities have agreed to organize seminars, conferences, lectures, training courses and workshops for industrial businesses. The partnership also aims to encourage industrial businesses to adhere to internationally approved specifications and standards, in an effort to further increase the value of the Emirate's industrial sector globally.
Al Khaili noted that, in order to increase private sector participation, the MoU highlights the importance of field visits to industrial areas. These will cover the study of the economic and industrial environment, focus on issues faced by the private sector, explore channels of communication with Chamber members in the industrial sector and identify joint ways to provide various services and update information and statistics regarding the industrial sector.
