On Friday 27th of February, hundreds of people will come together for this event, either walking, running, roller-skating, skateboarding or cycling their way around the beautiful Qurum beach road for a total length of six kilometers. The event will start at 9.00am at the Crowne Plaza Muscat and while registration can be done on the day of the event at 8.15am, pre-registration is strongly encouraged.
Whilst The Green Pace is an entertaining event for the entire family, it also aims at promoting healthy lifestyles, and an awareness of our environment and the urgent need to protect it.
H.H. Sayyida Tania bint Shabib Al Said of the ESO said:
"Our hope is to provide an experience that all participants can enjoy, but our main and final objective is to support the fight against plastic bags and live in a better environment. Spending time outdoors makes us really appreciate what we are striving for; the preservation of the natural beauty of Oman."
"We are proud to be part of The Green Pace event, which will undoubtedly be a memorable and rewarding experience," said Mr. David Todd, the Crowne Plaza Muscat's General Manager. "This event unites people in a unique way, making it a perfect fit for the Crowne Plaza Muscat's continued commitment to the community we serve."
If you would like to take part in this event, registrations can be made at the Crowne Plaza Muscat, the Environment Society of Oman, the Al Bustan Intercontinental Palace, the Intercontinental Hotel and Totem clothing boutique in Jawaharat A'Shatti. Participants will receive an Anti Plastic Bag Campaign t-shirt, wrist band and jute bag.
