Bain and Company appoints Jean-Marie Péan to position of Chairman, Middle East region

In his new role, Mr. Péan will oversee Bain's operations and new business development in the Middle East and serve as the firm's representative on all regional business affairs. Mr. James Hadley succeeds Mr. Péan and takes over as managing director Middle East.

In his new role, he will lead all Middle East operations including strategy, planning, resource allocation and the recruiting, training and development of professional teams. He will continue to serve clients in the region.

Mr. Jean-Marie Péan joined the firm in 1983 and has been serving clients in the Middle East including local companies, multinational corporations, family-owned conglomerates and private equity funds for more than 15 years. He founded the Dubai office in 2005 and served as its managing partner until 2008.

A veteran of the firm and leader in its Global Organization Practice, Mr. Péan brings both an established track record of leading successful Bain teams and a record of successfully launching new offices for the firm. He launched the Bain Brussels office in 1990 and led the Paris Office until 2001.

Mr. Péan has been published in The Wall Street Journal and quoted in Reuters, Gulf News and Business 24/7 and has appeared on CNBC Arabiya. He is a frequent speaker at the World Economic Forum and has bylined many articles in leading international publications.

Mr. James Hadley has been appointed Managing Director of Bain & Company Middle East and will be based at the firm's Dubai office. He joined Bain's London office in 1996 and has advised clients in many industries, from petrochemicals to consumer goods. Mr. Hadley specializes in corporate and business unit strategy and performance improvement - both revenue enhancement and cost & complexity reduction. He brings substantial international experience having worked in a number of different offices in Europe and North America before moving to the Middle East. He is a leading member of the firm's Global Strategy Practice as well as the Telecom, Media & Technology Practice.

James graduated with honors from Oxford University, where he held an Open Scholarship. He has contributed to many publications and recently co-authored an article 'Supply and on Demand,' in The Wall Street Journal Europe.
