Prizes for the awards amount to more than Dhs1m; the number of winners in the print, radio and video categories has been raised from three to five, while the winner in the category of best TV presenter will win a cash prize as well as a year-long contract with AMG's Noor Dubai Radio and Television.

The Sheikh Majid Youth Media Award will accept entries in the radio, video, print and special categories from 15 February-22 March 2009. A unique approach to youth compeitions, the Sheikh Majid Media Awards is determined to support and celebrate exceptional young adults that want to creatively excel in their various ambitions. More importantly, this award also encourages and seeks to explore the humanitarian initiatives that young Emiratis drive and the various social campaigns around the UAE.
Public voting for each segment of the competition will begin on 26 March 2009.
