Mr. bin Sulayem attributed the success of 8th WTTC Global Summit in Dubai last year to the inspiring partnership between the public and private sectors in the tourism domain.
He extended support for this year's summit from Dubai's tourism industry which remained proactive and supportive to DTCM's efforts in promoting tourism in these challenging times in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Santa Catarina Governor Mr. Luiz Henrique da Silveira, who headed the 30-member delegation, described Dubai as a dynamic and beautiful city and sought the support and expertise of DTCM and its tourism industry partners in making this year's WTTC Global Summit a grand success.
He expressed his country's desire to expand relations with the emirate and learn from Dubai's success story considering the fact that tourism accounts for a major share in Santa Catarina's GNP of over $35bn.
