Sven P Gade elected Fellow of Institute of Hospitality

The Institute of Hospitality (IoH) comprises professional managers from the hospitality, leisure and tourism industries worldwide and is represented in all sectors including hotels, contract catering, restaurants, pubs and clubs, as well as leisure outlets, theme parks and sports venues.

With over 10,000 members in more than 100 countries, IoH promotes the highest professional standards of management and education in these international industries.

Fellowship in the IoH is the highest achievement a member can attain and is by invitation and election only. In his declaration, Philippe Rossiter, CEO of IoH, stated that "Mr. Gade was elected in recognition of his commitment to professionalism and his standing in the hospitality, leisure and tourism industries over many years."

The election recognises Mr. Gade's career to date, which spans over 30 years, and during which he has developed his hospitality & tourism expertise in over 40 countries and across all industry related segments.

He has participated in milestone projects in the Middle East including the tourism master plan for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Hotel Classification System for the Sultanate of Oman, as well as numerous and leading other tourism development projects. Moreover, the IoH particularly recognised that during his membership of the institute Mr. Gade was personally responsible for introducing, training and placing many colleagues from over 20 nationalities and cultures into all facets and of the industry, many of whom have become highly successful professionals.

Mr. Gade responded to the news by expressing his delight that his long term support of the industry and the Institute were acknowledged with such an honourable gesture: "Despite spending large parts of my career in far flung places - as is the nature of our industry - I always remained dedicated to my membership and support to the IoH. Naturally, this appointment not only rewards but more importantly reinforces my dedication and my commitment to a continued professional contribution to the industry and the people within it. It is proof that high professional ethics and the desire to constantly stand for exceeding levels of quality in whatever one does are recognised and appreciated."
