Alcatel-Lucent participates in the IDC Middle East CIO Summit

Alcatel-Lucent demonstrated ways to create cost-effective Green strategic plan at the IDC's Middle East CIO Summit 2009 that was held on February 8th and 9th in Dubai and in which the company actively participated as Platinum sponsor.

Alcatel-Lucent addressed the evolution of Enterprise communications providing the company's vision for the Green dynamic enterprise in the Middle East market.

During the event, Gabriel Karam, Head of Marketing & Business Development for the Enterprise Group, presented the tremendous potential of Information & Communication Technologies (ICT) to contribute reducing the gas and energy consumptions in the Middle East region.

"Most Enterprises have decided to implement Green strategic plan to reduce their environmental impact. ICT change can affect your company's green credential while reducing costs & growing revenues. Unified Communications (UC) can be of strategic importance when well integrated into the company's green plan."


Mr. Karam says.

In the occasion, Alcatel-Lucent revealed its knowledge and expertise in reducing the environmental impact of ICT. This can be achieved from four angles: Networks can be optimized with advanced integration, dynamic power management and innovative cooling techniques; People can be enabled by active promotion of eco-awareness at work and by making better use of devices thus enabling virtual workforce. Processes can be regulated to become sustainable, automated and efficient and Knowledge can be connected in a way that a culture of eco-conscious innovation can emerge.
