Qualifying rounds were open to PGA Club Professionals throughout the UK and their Club Captains. The seven pairs of successful finalists will travel to Bahrain on Sunday 22nd February courtesy of Gulf Air. They will have the opportunity to play a practice round on the Royal Golf Club's challenging new Colin Montgomerie-designed championship course on Monday ahead of the 36-hole final which will take place on Tuesday 24th and Wednesday 25th February. Also making the trip to Bahrain to take part in the tournament will be Parnell Reilly, the Captain of the PGA.
The Royal Golf Club will be represented by General Manager and PGA Professional Michael Braidwood and 2009 Vice Captain Mark Holmans. The Pro/Captain pairing of Martin Duff and Mel Stewart from Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club in the UAE will complete the field.
"We are very pleased to be associated with such a prestigious sporting event. The PGA tournament provides an excellent platform to showcase Bahrain as a tourist destination and educate a wider audience about Business Friendly Bahrain and our award-winning airline."
said Gulf Air Chief Executive Officer Björn Näf.
