This first time tasting will take place at the restaurant on February 22, 2009 at 7:30 p.m.

During an elegant dinner event, guests will have the chance to experience tastings of Castello di Querceto's wines, imported from Italy's Chianti region, which have been awarded top scores from the renowned Wine Spectator magazine.

The wines will be paired with a five-course set dinner menu presented by Fairmont Heliopolis' Executive Chef Jean-Claude Plihon and Marco Fizialetti, the Commercial Director of Castello di Querceto, who will share his wine tasting notes and expertise about the characteristics of the new wines.

"We're confident that Leonardo's introduction of the Castello di Querceto wine to the Egyptian market will further enhance Fairmont Heliopolis' standards of culinary excellence and will reinforce the hotel's market positioning of offering enriching dining experiences. Leonardo Restaurant is committed to providing outstanding Italian cuisine, which will be complemented by offering Castello di Querceto's wine list to our esteemed guests," said Rayner Simon, Director of Food & Beverage, Fairmont Helipolis.

He also added that the introduction of this new and internationally-renowned Italian wine brand complements the hotel's strategy to diversify its product offerings through quality brand partners, to best serve the changing needs and desires of its guests.

As Fairmont Heliopolis is keen to continue its reputation as a leading innovator in terms of food and beverage in the Egyptian market, the hotel is planning many similar events as part of its commitment to offering dining variety and excellence with the finest purveyors.

Castello di Querceto is located in the northeastern side of Italy's Chianti Classico area, just 25 km from Florence, and also close to Siena. The vineyard is in a small valley in the commune of Greve in Chianti, which is home to the François family, who have owned the 50 hectares that comprise Castello di Querceto for generations. The family has prospered through their dedication to quality, over quantity.
