Overall, Leo Burnett Mena won an impressive 13 Cristal awards across the categories. Upon winning these top awards, the agency also received two special mentions from a jury led by President of JWT Worldwide, Michael Maedel.
Leo Burnett Mena CEO, Raja Trad said of the win; "We believe that creativity has the power to transform human behaviour and the 'Khede Kasra' campaign did this - It connected with people as people, not consumers and as a result has won the top accolade. Such big ideas emanating from our teams are the bedrock for effective communication and our awards pay tribute to the effort being made to create campaigns and ideas that truly move people."
Also attending the festival was Farid Chehab, Chief Creative Officer for Leo Burnett Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, who held a presentation on the third day of the Cristal de la Mena entitled the "Mother of all Integration". In an overcrowded auditorium, Chehab shared his views of a well integrated campaign and its impact on the public at large.
Following the award ceremony, Chehab said;
"Creativity, innovation and integration are words that best reflect our teams core thinking; I congratulate the entire Leo Burnett team whose recent work has reflected the agency's commitment to the creation of big ideas and its purpose to build meaningful communications that make a qualitative difference to people's lives. 2008 was another successful year for Leo Burnett Mena setting the bar higher for greater creativity in 2009."
